I don’t know how this show almost slipped through the cracks but here it is now.  For those of you who don’t know, Z-Trip is one of the most influential DJ’s of our time. He is often credited as being one of the founders of the “mashup” and sells out shows worldwide. If you like music like Girl Talk, TRVSDJAM (Travis Barker & DJ AM), or any of the tunes on this website (http://www.mashuptown.com/) then make sure you don’t miss this show.

Soundwave Entertainment has brought Z-Trip to Winnipeg a few times before and with good promotion, packed the Exchange Event Centre (now Republic Nightclub). It would be nice to see Z-Trip again bring out a good crowd to the Tijuana Yacht Club (Canad Clubs and Winnipeg’s largest nightclub). As a side note, this is the first big name DJ we have had come through Winnipeg on a Friday in a while (most shows lately have either been Thursday or Saturday night events)

Don’t know anything else about this event other then what is on the poster. Tickets are very reasonably priced at $17.50 and are available for pickup at the front desk of Canad Inn’s Polo Park, Canad Inns Website, or by calling 694-SHOW. Door’s open at 8:00PM and it is an 18+ event. Below is a brief Z-Trip biography and a wicked video!

Z-Trip (born Zach Sciacca) is best known as a founder of the mashup movement. A Phoenix, Arizona native, who now resides in Los Angeles. Was known early in his career for performing with the Bombshelter DJs (DJ Emile, DJ Radar, and DJ Z-Trip). He became widely known when his collaboration with DJ P, Uneasy Listening, Vol. 1, was released in 2001. Only 1000 copies were made, but the album was soon distributed over the Internet in MP3 format. “Uneasy Listening” topped many critics best album of year lists, including: Rolling Stone, Spin, Entertainment Weekly, URB, LA Times and NY Times. Since then he has become well-known worldwide for his sold out shows and eclectic style.
