iMix DJ Championship is a premiere event that will feature Winnipeg’s elite DJs battling it out to claim top honors as Winnipeg’s DJ Champion. To diversify the competition all the DJ’s involved represent different backgrounds and genres. Part of the selection criteria was that the DJ must have a club residency or headline events. The DJ competition format is 10 minute sets covering 4 different genres of the DJs choosing. This competition is a must see for aspiring DJs as well as all music lovers. iMix DJ Championship is committed to and proud of the abilities of Winnipeg’s DJs. Watching the cream of the local community rise to the top should prove to be entertaining, and exciting.

Entrants in the iMix DJ Championship will be judged on the following criteria:

1. Mixing Ability – Consistency, accuracy, and rhythm. How well a contestant can smoothly mix one track into another & their ability to use the DJ equipment to its maximum (eg: filters, cross fader, delays, flanger etc).
2. Technical Skills & Tricks – Techniques, scratching, speed.
3. Originality – Creativity and musical selection.
4. Crowd Response – How well the crowd responds to the set.
5. Stage Presence – How well they perform behind the decks. Showmanship & how much they enjoy the music.
