Massive Brawl Outside Cowboys And Stereo Nightclub Saturday November 7 2009

Here is a story that was published on Sunday November 8 2009 in the Winnipeg Sun. As they describe it was a pretty big fight involving hundreds of people watching. Canad Clubs is well known for their security so it is surprising to me that something like this was able to get so out of hand.

This raises the question, what does everyone think about fighting at bars? From what you have seen, what is the general cause? What can be done to help this problem? Was anyone at this particular incident? What’s the biggest fight you have ever seen?

Two young men are facing charges after numerous fights broke out outside Cowboys and Stereo nightclubs at Canad Inns Windsor Park early Sunday.
-
Winnipeg police public information officer Const. Jason Michalyshen said several hundred people congregated as numerous fights erupted outside the clubs around closing time, 2 a.m.
-
“There were a number of separate incidents,” he said.
-
In one incident, a 19-year-old man faces an aggravated assault charge after another 19-year-old man was taken to hospital following an argument that escalated into a fight. The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition with injuries to his head and other areas, but was later upgraded to stable condition.
-
The suspect was being held in custody Sunday.
-
Another 19-year-old man is facing charges of assaulting a police officer and uttering threats. Michalyshen said the suspect is alleged to have pushed and threatened an officer as police tried to clear the area. The officer was not injured in the incident.
-
Michalyshen said several other people outside the bars were transported to the drunk tank under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.

Here is also a pretty funny video I came across that features Bas Rutten explaining how to win a bar fight:

It must suck to wake up the next morning and have charges and/or injuries.
thats why i don’t go to hoochie bars. too many roid monkeys sniffing coke and having violent infant-like outburts. too many barely legal kids getting pissed drunk for the very first time and barfing/fighting/getting chlamydia. articles about this event should focus on shaming the individuals involved, not sensationalizing the size of the crowd.
bar fights kinda makes me laugh.. people are drunk and dumb when they get into fights. people think they are invinsible and then in the end they get their ass kicked. it is honestly entertaining to see how dumb people get.. seriously, learn how to hold your booze or just party at home, cause no one wants to deal with your drunk ass..
as for the guy who was sent to the hospital.. hopefully he’s doing better, and HOPEFULLY he learned that fighting after the bar is probably not the smartest idea..
fuck those lame bars full of chachi-chav redneck idiots.
