Vivid Nite Club & Lounge Exclusive Preview
-
As I am sure most of you already know, Coyotes Nightclub (one of Winnipeg’s hottest nightclubs for a number of years) closed down a number of months ago. Since the close, many people have been left wondering what would happen to the now vacant Pembina highway location. Located only minutes away from the University of Manitoba, many other popular Winnipeg Nightlife spots, and the future home of the Winnipeg Stadium, the former Coyotes location is located in a prime area for a successful nightclub.
-
Just a couple weeks ago, it was announced that “Vivid Nite Club & Lounge” will be opening in the former Coyotes location. Vivid will primarily be a 20+ Bar on weekends with the exception of special events. Also making Vivid different than the competition is the dual role they will play. From 5:00PM-10:00PM, Vivid will be a restaurant and lounge serving food, drinks, and offering entertainment. At 10:00PM however, a DJ will take the stage and Vivid with be transofrmed into a full fledged nightclub!
-
Vivid will offer many guest services including lavish VIP packages and bottle service. There is a dress code in effect however it seems to be slightly more relaxed compared to many bars in other cities catering to the same audience. Vivid has employed Jamie Hall as the Marketing & Entertainment Manager for the Nightclub. Jamie has extensive experience in the Winnipeg Nightlife scene and we are extremely lucky that he was able answer a few questions of ours about Vivid Nite Club & Lounge.

What will make Vivid Nite Club different from other nightclubs in Winnipeg?
VIVID has been designed as a nite club and lounge. We are concentrating on a more personal experience where people connect with other people and then at 10pm the whole vibe changes and VIVID becomes a nite club. The nite club is different because we are concentrating on customer service as well as focusing on making small variations each week to give customers a different experience every time they come.
Why did Vivid choose make weekends 20+ and what can the patron expect as a result of this?
The 20+ decision was made based on on the overall vibe of the room. We felt that our entertainment and customer service as well as range of music would be more appropriate to those that have a couple of years of clubbing under their belt. The decision was not made because of stereotypes of the 18 & 19 year old clientele or because we felt they would be bad clientele to have. The decision was made as a direct reflection of our entertainment and mature vibe.
What type of music and feel will Vivid have?
The music on Fridays will have a format similar to Las Vegas Saturday nights. Top 40, House and Hip Hop. During lounge hours Fridays will offer chill house in the background. On Saturdays you can expect a Seattle vibe. Rock, mash-ups and top 40 will round out the music. Live entertainment on Fridays will be dancers and on Saturdays, bands. On the floor the entertainment will continue with everything from magicians to table games and more.
Vivid is taking over Coyotes old location on Pembina Highway. Do you expect to see alot of familiar Coyotes faces at Vivid?
We expect to see many Coyotes regulars but we also expect many new comers. The fun and safety of Coyotes is inside of VIVID with a new kind of polished ambience. It’s not a question of, do we expect to see those same faces out. It’s more about whether we think Coyotes regulars and new comers can both enjoy VIVID, and I’d have to give that question a resounding, YES!
Being close to the University of Manitoba & and the future home of the new Winnipeg Stadium, how do you feel this will affect business at Vivid and how will you accomadate these customers?
The coming of the Stadium will help us continually reinvent VIVID. We accommodate local jerseys in our dress code in during school months we will be offering incentives to the University students that are minutes away.
Anything else you would like to tell the readers about Vivid Nite Club?
An important thing about VIVID is that we have three managers. Rob Spencer is our General Manager and he will take care of security and bar staff. Kayla Tremblay is the Guest Services Manager and she will make sure that VIPs get their excellent level of service and that all clientele’s needs are met. I am the Marketing & Entertainment Manager, taking care of making sure Winnipeg knows about VIVID and that the production inside of the room is continually entertaining. By having one role broken up into three we will be able to provide a concentration on service and entertainment.

I hope the atmosphere is a little more posh than the white trash atmosphere of coyotes. Like mybar or blush. also it would be benificial if you incorporated some VLT’s, I would have went to coyotes more often if there was something else to do instead of strictly dancing or people watching.
Just my opinion, I am in your target age range and was a coyotes regular.
Hi Carolynn,
The atmosphere will be more posh but not stuffy. In regards to VLTs we will not have them. Nite clubs in Winnipeg rarely have VLTs because it causes a contridiction in that atmosphere you are after.
We are working to provide an entertaining atmosphere so there will be more than dancing and people watching. Please also keep in mind that we are a lounge until 10pm so we have great food and atmosphere.
