Ladies In The District Mondays At Alive Nightclub Winnipeg

The same promoters (Wana Etuk & Brett Stenning) behind last summer’s Turntable Tuesday’s At Whiskey Dix, Sunday’s At Liquid Lounge, DRNK At Dylans On Pembina and tons of other sold out events have just announced a new summer partnership project which will be held weekly on Monday’s at Alive Nightclub in Winnipeg’s Exchange District. Since opening a couple years ago, Alive has being one of Winnipeg’s most consistent weekend destinations and started the trend of enforcing a 21+ age restriction.
-
Ladies In The District Monday’s is going to open up one of Winnipeg’s most popular nightclubs to two new audiences. First, it will be the only night in which Alive is open to people under the age of 21 (a rule that Alive enforces much more strictly then other clubs in the city with the same rule). Secondly, it will be the only consistent weeknight Alive is open which will allow those who work in the industry or who for whatever other reason can’t make it out on weekends.
-
After talking with the promoter, this night will be toward providing an upscale nightlife experience. The dress code will be semi-formal, there will be lavish VIP packages available upon request, and heavy emphasis on style and service. Only time will tell if Winnipeg, a relatively blue collar city, will buy into this idea which is popular in larger Canadian cities like Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. As for the music, it will be supplied by DJ Ric Hard and will consist primarily of electronic music.

This night will fail. Only reason Turntable Tuesday was successful was the DJs and the Whiskey Dix patio. I don’t see anything special about this night. Semi formal? give me a break
I love the constructive feedback. FYI weeklies like Mondays @ Palamino, Thursdays @ TYC do not have namebrand DJS, nor do they have Whiskey Dix – like Patios. In addition, Turn Table Tuesday has moved to Mystique where it sees the same type of success. Alive has a Patio, and it is a safe enviroment to party in. The night is dedicated to good vibrations, good people, and good times. Expect a strong focus on VIP Experience unlike any at any other club. VIP no longer means 100 people in line and cover. It has a unique meaning with us and I look forward to our summer launch MONDAY, MAY 3RD.
I’m actually excited. I’m tired of all these hiphop and mainstream music and I love Alive in the District.
yayyyyyyyy i want the tickets and ill be there at Alive forsure on the 3rd. I like Alive’s patio
i am not really a fan of semi-formal dress code, but others may be willing to dress up to go out. i like lookin like a bum but thats just a personal opinion i suppose.
This is such a good idea! I work every weekend and me and all my friends are always looking for something to do OTHER than the pal! Wooo!
Ashley & Scott, Tashina and Tanya and Jason. Pls call 204.294.0067 for your free ticket to see SANDER VAN DOORN — Ranked #10 in the World by DJ MAG — Friday April 30 @ TIjuana Yacht Club
I’m pretty pumped. Should be good times!
SWEET free ticket!! I doubt alive will play SVD type music :p
I think this will be great. EVERYBODY gets sick of the pal weekly.
wow finally another place we can go to on mondays other than the pal!! i’m so looking forward to the opening on may 3rd!! i wonder how different the VIP at Alive will be?! ^_^
Altho I wanted those free tickets and planned on going to SVD I still wanna put my 2cents in.
Every bar has a day its known to be busy, if a bar is newer like mystique it becomes the spot to be and can get busy on weekdays also. The reason why the pal and other places attract people on weekdays is they offer something different that day than their usual days.
I remembering going to pharoahs on fridays and loved the electronica they played. I enjoyed the hip hop they had on wednesdays back in 07 also. They took these two things away and became stereo which was always over capacity for almost a year.
Tuesday is a tough day and not too many people wanna go semi formal on a tuesday when they could go out to eat or see strippers instead. If Alive offered something different that day: different theme each week (like 80s, grunge, electronic, jazz) I can see it as being extremely successful if it had the right exposure.
Alive will be open on MONDAYS not tuesdays . The residient dj (RIC HARD) will be spinning electro and club banger mashups + he will be accompanied by a different/new musical guest every week. Also, speaking of different, Mondays will be the only 18+ night at Alive, so any 18,19, and 20 yearolds that want to check out alive can now do so…oh yah, not to mention the High Society Girls that will be at the front door greeting guests AND the prize give aways by High Society Events, & Sun City Tan Studio.
@ stens Heard ric hard play at hifi for the peak season night and a few other nights. From what I have heard his style is more hip hop and r&b rather than electro which is my fav. I dunno maybe just the style he had for the night. All aside definately gonna try this night out.
@ Jordan -Ric Hard is a talented guy, hence the reason he’ll be the resident DJ for Monday nights at Alive. He has many different influences that he draws from and changes his set list to match the type of event/venue he is spinning at. At Alive on Mondays, his main focus will be to keep people on the dance floor by spinning the best in electro and club banger mash ups. Electro is my fav type of music too so dont worry, he’ll be dropping the pressure when the night pops off. Add me on Facebook: Brett Stenning, and Ill put you on the VIP list for May 3rd so you can check it out for yourself.
oohhh this looks like fun!
Cant wait for May 3rd!
DJ RIC HARD!
Pumped for a bar other then the pal on Mondays! Especially one without a booty shake, hahaha. Went this past Monday and it was awesome, people dressed up, and good music … not everyone was dressed semi-formal, but still looked good. There were alot more ladies then men, so boys, get out too!!
Well thanks for the invite Catherine, I shall check it out!
Jason I disagree with you mainly because this night will cater to those who cannot normally get out on weekends, such as people that do shift work (e.g., nurses!). Also, here’s a tip: we’re more attractive to women when we dress semi-formal, that’s just the law of nature (why do you think male birds spend so much time building ‘pretty’ nests), so put on those dress shoes!
Later!
