Well it looks like Winnipeg’s newest nightclub, Mystique Nightclub, has wasted no time to add another night to it’s already stacked roster. The club has only been open a couple of weeks and so far every Friday and Saturday have reached capacity!

Wednesdays at Mystique will now be dedicated to electro thanks to DJ CH3 and the rest of OMFG! Entertainment. That is right everybody, no more basement/sideroom venues to get your weekly electro fix. If you are wondering what type of scene to expect, think Steve Aoki (and the rest of Dim Mak), California hipster clubs (Blow Up etc.), Cobrasnake and everything else that comes along with it.

OMFG! Entertainment is proud to announce we are officially setting up in Winnipeg. It is our goal to bring Winnipeg the creamiest bass-lines, funky rhythms, and party anthems you will ever hear straight from the depths of the underground. The OMFG! Crew provides the sounds that make even the party poopers and downers get down and dirty on the dance floor. OMFG! absorbs and refines it’s underground musical influences from the word’s trendiest scenes in New York, Paris, LA and the UK as a whole.

OMFG! is hyped to have DjCh3 as Winnipeg’s first DJ on the OMFG! roster! But why stop there? Are you a DJ who plays Electro/Fidget/Indie/House/Nu Disco/Dub Step/MashUp ?

On November 18th at Mystique Nightclub we will be hosting a DJ Competition to find Winnipeg’s next OMFG! DJ. Also the winner will become part of a roster of DJ’s that will play on a future OMFG! weekly night…Oh and did we mention on top of that you get a cash prize as well.

Competition Info:

+Round 1 is a skills round.
-All DJ’s will be provided with the songs that are eligible for this portion of the competition (Various Genres).
-DJ’s will be judged based on mixing skills, beat matching, transitions, track placement, and ability to engage the crowd.
-10 Minutes per DJ
-A point system will be used

-
+Round 2 is a battle round.
-2 DJ’s will be paired based on points from round 1
-Dj’s will each play 2 minute sets back and forth for a total of 10 minutes per DJ.
-After the round DJ’s will be judged based on crowd response (cheers etc)
-Loudest response moves on (DJ’s Invite Yer Peeps!!)

+Round 3 is a Freestyle round.
-Final DJ’s will choose their own track lists and mix a 15 minute set.
-Again DJ’s will be judged on mixing skills,beat matching, transitions, track placement, and ability to engage the crowd.
-A point system will be used.

On November 25th 2009 OMFG! will host it’s official launch party at Mystique Nightclub where our newest signed artist DjCh3 will be playing Electro/Fidget/House/Nu Disco/Indie/Dub Step. With an energy level that does not quit and library full of funky electro bangers and fresh remixes, DjCh3 is sure to bring a party you don’t want to miss! The winner of the OMFG! DJ Comp will also be showcased this night!

Based out of Canada. We are a very full funded, indie, electronic, hip-hop, and rock culture movement. In many ways we are similar to the famous, “Dim Mak” out of Los Angeles, California and “Mad Decent” out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Our parent company, PDP Entertainment is one of the biggest concert moguls in Canada and Jamaica. We are currently setting weekly residencies/club nights under the OMFG! name in multiple city’s in Canada including Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Toronto, Ottowa, Montreal, Halifax, and now Winnipeg. Our approach with multiple residencies in other city’s is to establish enough control and influence to be able to assign tours to Artist’s/DJ’s we work with completely independently with full control.
