Not to much explanation is needed here as his name says it all. He is the biggest DJ in the world and he is coming back to Winnipeg thanks to Soundwave Entertainment! This event is set to be the biggest Electronic Music Event/Rave Winnipeg has ever seen!

Tiesto last played in Winnipeg 2 years ago to hundreds (maybe even thousands) of ecstatic electronic music fans packed into the Winnipeg Convention Centre. The event has gone down in the record books as one of the best Winnipeg events ever despite a notorious bomb threat that forced thousands of Winnipeg partiers into the streets of downtown Winnipeg in the early hours of the morning. Since Tiesto in 2007, the Winnipeg Rave scene has grown substantially as well as the music genre itself leading most speculators to believe this event will surpass his legendary last visit!

Opening for Tiesto last time was Winnipeg’s own international Trance DJ/Producer Alucard who has being somewhat absent from recent Trance and electronic events. It will be interesting to see who is selected to open for Tiesto or if another out of town DJ will be brought in to do that job. At the last event, tickets were priced at $65 a piece and were sold through Ticketmaster outlets. It is likely that ticket prices and distribution method were somewhat comparable to last time. Opening for Tiesto this time will be Dada Life who are currently tearing up the Electro and Electro House scene. This is as good of an opening act as we could ask for and everyone should try and show up in time to catch his set. Dada & Tiesto will also be supported by the promoter himself, Stephen Hua who in his own right is also a great DJ and Republic/Stereo resident Hollywood Hype who is exploding on the Winnipeg scene. The Duckworth Centre is a large, gymnasium type venue centrally located at the University of Winnipeg (it is where the Wesman sports teams compete). It is comparable in size to the Convention Centre where Tiesto played last and with a good sound, light and video system, could very well be transformed into an incredible concert venue. It will be exciting to see how this new venue will turn for such an event.
